LO1 - Target Audience

The magazine will be aimed at casual gamers who want to find out information on game which are soon to be released. There will be information on games which are rumoured to be in the process of production, as well as any news which may affect gamers in the future. The magazine will include reviews on games which are already released as well as information on upcoming titles. The magazine will also be for more hardcore gamers because it will provide information from events such as E3 and Gamescom. This will help them to have a greater knowledge on new games and updates which will be released mostly in the following year or towards the end of 2015.

Jack is a 18 year old gamer, he enjoys more competitive style of play provided when playing FPS games, but he also loves to explore in free roam games often as part of the action-adventure genre. Jack loves to watch YouTube videos and has recently started to upload his own. He would love to be able to provide his growing fan base with information on events like E3, as well as his personal opinion on what he expects from the upcoming releases as well as idea's for other games which are rumoured to be in production. He is looking for somewhere he can gain access to all of this information to share it with his own audience over his Twitch stream and YouTube channel.

For my third magazine idea I have thought of a different idea, which would be written in more of a quirky style, but still get the information across to the reader. This magazine focuses on getting people to be healthier through diet and exercise. The magazine will have information from professionals will facts on being healthier but will approach telling the information in a quirky style that will allow the reader to relate to it. The articles would be written by people who have become healtheir themselves and have some tips and tricks to give to the readers of the magazine.

LO1 - Initial ideas - Magazine Idea 2: News

My second idea for a magazine focuses on the news in Sheffield, including information on schools, colleges and universities. There will be information about local events and news which relates to Sheffield because it would allow the reader to find out about any new occurrences near them. I feel that by focusing heavily on education in this magazine would be a very positive topic and may provide younger people with lots of information about choices and opportunities which can help to shape their future.

My first idea for a magazine focuses on the news and future of computer games. I would be looking at console games and providing the reader with insights from people who have played the games that they are reviewing. I will also give them the ability to find information on games which haven't been release, with information which has been collected through interviews or through visiting events such as E3 or Gamescom.

In order to make it easier for me to decide what magazine I will be developing for Unit 14, I created a brainstorm of ideas for magazines that I could make my idea for. I Looked at the different categories of magazines and the content they produce to help me develop my ideas. From looking at this brainstorm I am interested in producing a magazine for this unit, under the category of a games magazine.
